DIY Natural Multipurpose Cleaner

This is an all natural, non-toxic, economical, and environmentally way to clean all around your house. What I love about this cleaner is that you can use it for just about anything! Use discretion though, always test the surface with a small amount before you clean the entire space (although, I haven't run into any trouble. ^__^). The main ingredients are vinegar and baking soda. The vinegar is a great antiseptic as it kills most molds, bacteria, and germs due to the acidity. The baking soda is great for scouring, deodorizes, and softens water. I use it for everything like the floors, counters, kitchen, bathroom, dishes, tables, carpet, and so much more!!!

MULTI-PURPOSE CLEANER:

Ingredients:
  • Vinegar  - natural preservative and antiseptic (I use the Apple Cider Vinegar. I don't think it makes a huge difference on what vinegar you use)
  • Baking Soda - (I use Clabber Girl or Arm & Hammer)
  • Distilled water (Try to avoid tap water as it has different minerals and compounds that may react with the baking soda)
Materials:
  • Measuring cup
  • Spoon
  • Spray container

1 part baking soda

2 parts vinegar
32 parts distilled water

For example:

1/8 cup or 6 teaspoons of baking soda.
1/4 cup or 12 teaspoons of vinegar.
4 cups of distilled water.

Hopefully, this isn't too confusing!! Let me know and I try to help out the best I can. This is going to be a lot of cleaner but trust me you'll be using it for everything like I do and I run out quickly! You can always adjust to make smaller proportions if you want to make a smaller amount depending on your bottle size. Adjust accordingly.

You can pour in the distilled water first and then the vinegar. Stir well. Then you can put in the measured amount of baking soda. Stir well. Pour into your spray container. Tada! Have fun and good luck!

DIY Multi-purpose Cleaner & Laundry Detergent

This is a multipurpose household cleaner that I made a few months ago. I literally use this everywhere in the house and it works so great. Probably much better than store brand cleaners. No joke! Not only does it clean and disinfect but it also deodorizes. Make sure to test it out on a specific surface before using it completely. These items are all natural~

Multipurpose Cleaner:

1/4 Baking soda
1/4 Vinegar [It doesn't matter which one really but I use the apple cider one]
1/2 Water [Distilled]
Few drops of tea tree oil
1 spray container

Mix and fill container

Laundry detergent:

1/4 Baking soda
1/4 Dr. Bronner's Baby Mild Castile Soap
1/2 Water (Distilled)
Optional* Super Washing Soda or Borax for Extra Strength (1-2 teaspoon)
1 container with lid

Mix and fill container

Homemade 3-in-1 Face, Hand, & Dish Soap

You can make your very own soap for face and hands (and dish) at home and you will only need three simple ingredients. It's the Dr. Bronner's Baby Mild Castile Soap, tea tree oil, and sweet almond oil which are very versatile and can be used to make many more things. This combination is very cleansing and the tea tree oil is a natural antiseptic and preservative. The sweet almond oil is help moisturize the skin. (You'll see these items often in my other blogs) I recycled an old Dial foaming soap container and I filled it with 1/5th of Dr. Bronner's Baby Mild Castile Soap, 2 to 3 drops of tea tree oil, and few teaspoons of sweet almond oil. A little bit goes a very long way! I filled the rest of it with distilled water. Stirred not shaken. :) Voila! There's your face and hand soap.

Dr. Bronner's Baby Mild Castile Soap 12.99~16.99 US dollars
Tea tree oil 8.99~10.99 Sweet almond oil 6.99~13.99 US dollars (Depending on how many ounces you buy)
You can purchase these amazing products on Amazon.com or your local natural grocery store.

Dish Soap:
You can also use this same formula as a natural dish detergent. Do the same thing but add a little more Dr. Bronner's Castile Soap in there (Try a third of the container instead of fifth) It will have a more liquid consistency than the typical dish detergent but it works great as a antibacterial degreaser. Make sure to take out the sweet almond oil. A little works a long way and this is safe for your hands as well!
