Natural Acne Spot Treatment

I have breakouts pretty bad and I still have the acne scars to show for it. Don't worry guys and gals because there are two natural products you can use and they actually work! Tea tree oil will be your pimple superman!!!! Da-dada-da! It's a natural antiseptic. Apply a drop of tea tree oil on your acne. I just dab some on my finger and go over all my bumps. A little bit goes a long way. Make sure your skin is clean and dry. You can buy a small bottle of this stuff for about 8 to 10 US dollars online or at your local natural grocery store.

Fun fact: Tea tree oil is a clear essential oil that is derived from leaves of Melaleuca alternifolia tree native to Australia.

Extra tip:
Follow up with a vitamin E oil to moisturize. You're probably thinking why would I put oil on my face? Trust me this oil is not greasy and will be quickly absorbed into the skin. I have combination dry skin which means I have an oily T zone and dry cheeks and chin. It's also sensitive. I have pimples all over my face and my skin couldn't be more complicated. So that's why I live by this stuff! Vitamin E is an antioxidant which will help with those free radicals and help reduce the appearance of acne scars. If you have stretch marks this vitamin E oil will help with that! You can click here for my blog about skincare routine which includes these two items I just talked about.

Your Very Own Housemaid: Plants

Did you know that plants can clean, humidify, dust-filter your home or office air? They're your inexpensive house maid!! Plants can save you hundreds of dollars every year by you spending less money on air filters, humidifiers, allergy medications, dusters, cleaning agents, etc... That's more money in your pocket. Not only that but they also remove those harmful toxins from air you breathe. This is especially important because there are higher levels of toxins inside your home than the outside. Crazy! As you'll read on, you'll see why getting a couple of plants is the better solution in cost, maintenance, for your health, and for the environment.

The leaves of plants emit negative ions. Oh no, that doesn't sound safe?! Don't worry it just means that the negative ions (produced similarly from air purifying machines) bind to dust, mold spores, bacteria, and allergens. Cool, huh? They actually help clean up the source of your allergies and actually eliminate the problem. You can spend less on allergy medication which only help the symptoms anyways and not actually address the source. So that means you don't have to spend all your money on a fancy air filter either. I remember when I used to have a small air filter it was loud which was mildly annoying. I would keep it on all day and everyday. I'm sure this didn't help my energy bill and on top of that I had to replace the filters from time to time. More money! Plants cut down on costs on your energy bill and since don't require that much energy that means they're definitely more environmentally friendly. Plants don't require maintenance cost like if an air filter goes broke you might have someone fix it or replace it. Do I need to go on? ^^

They also help maintain humidity levels by releasing water vapor during transpiration. I've posted a picture to the right showing you what that it looks like. They help you stay moist during those dry days. No need for a humifier!

As you already may know pollution is on the rise and toxins are everywhere. You have toxic chemicals like formedehyde, benzene, toluene, carbon dioxide  and countless others outside and inside your home. As stated in the CDC (Center of Disease Control) "[i]ndoor air generally contains levels of benzene higher than those in outdoor air." How could it worse inside?! "The benzene in indoor air comes from products that contain benzene such as glues, paints, furniture wax, and detergents." Ohmergerd! Additionally in gas emissions, crude oil, lubricant, tobacco smoke, industrial and plant emissions.  If that doesn't already scare you, here's more:

"Formaldehyde is found virtually everywhere, indoors and out, naturally occurring and man-made. It is a combustion product found in cigarette and wood smoke, natural gas, kerosene, exhaust from automobiles, incinerators and power plants. It is also widely used in building materials especially glue, Urea-formaldehyde foam insulation and pressed-wood products such as plywood, particle board, paneling and wood finishes. Many floor coverings contain formaldehyde such as carpet, padding and adhesives. Also used in furniture, paper products, cosmetics, deodorants, shampoos, fabric dyes and permanent-press fabrics, inks, disinfectants, air deodorizers and carpet deodorizers. Mobile homes, motor homes, and travel trailers are known for high amounts of formaldehyde since so many of their components may be made from particle board or pressed-wood products."- Prohousedr.com

Need I say more? It's freakin' everywhere! Most plants will eliminate carbon dioxide through an amazing process called photosynthesis. Certain plants can also eliminate those nasty toxins I mentioned earlier. Why should you care about toxins? Well toxins are bad for your body. They can be carcinogenic which means they may cause cancer and diseases. Yikes! There are good plants that will help clean some of the air out inside your home and no worries they very low maintenance. I will list two common house plants below:

Common House Plants: Golden Pothos & Snake Plant

Name: Golden Pothos

Other names: Devil's Ivy
Price: 12 to 15 US dollars (Walmart)

Caution: KEEP THIS AWAY FROM CHILDREN AND PETS AS IT IS POISONOUS WHEN INGESTED

Name: Snake Plant
Other names: Mother-In-Law's Tongue

These guys don't need very much light and water. (Once weekly/biweekly)These plants are amazing because they are low maintenance and they filter out toxic compounds known as formaldehyde and benzene. They're not expensive to get and you can purchase these at your local nursery or garden center.

So come on guys and get with the program and start making your house look like a jungle. Just kidding! Place a few plants in your room or house. Obviously, this isn't the complete and final solution to cleaner air but it's a start! Every little bit helps, right?

Homemade 3-in-1 Face, Hand, & Dish Soap

You can make your very own soap for face and hands (and dish) at home and you will only need three simple ingredients. It's the Dr. Bronner's Baby Mild Castile Soap, tea tree oil, and sweet almond oil which are very versatile and can be used to make many more things. This combination is very cleansing and the tea tree oil is a natural antiseptic and preservative. The sweet almond oil is help moisturize the skin. (You'll see these items often in my other blogs) I recycled an old Dial foaming soap container and I filled it with 1/5th of Dr. Bronner's Baby Mild Castile Soap, 2 to 3 drops of tea tree oil, and few teaspoons of sweet almond oil. A little bit goes a very long way! I filled the rest of it with distilled water. Stirred not shaken. :) Voila! There's your face and hand soap.

Dr. Bronner's Baby Mild Castile Soap 12.99~16.99 US dollars
Tea tree oil 8.99~10.99 Sweet almond oil 6.99~13.99 US dollars (Depending on how many ounces you buy)
You can purchase these amazing products on Amazon.com or your local natural grocery store.

Dish Soap:
You can also use this same formula as a natural dish detergent. Do the same thing but add a little more Dr. Bronner's Castile Soap in there (Try a third of the container instead of fifth) It will have a more liquid consistency than the typical dish detergent but it works great as a antibacterial degreaser. Make sure to take out the sweet almond oil. A little works a long way and this is safe for your hands as well!

How To Get Doll Eyes

Okay so you don't need photoshop or excessive makeup to achieve adorable doll eyes. You just need to get a few items to achieve this look and we can do these together. Although this look can not be achieved 100% naturally. I thought it would be nice to look up products that are almost natural for those who are looking for less toxic products to achieve this look. The products that most people using out there are filled with bad chemicals! I was looking online for a natural eyelash adhesive and alas! I found one. It's called Winks by Georgie Faux Lash Adhesive. It runs for 8 US dollars on Amazon and a Nordstrom website. It's naturally white in color but it dries clear.

    • Approx. 50 applications.
    • Paraben-, phthalate- and fragrance-free.
    • Dermatologist-tested; PETA-certified.
    • By Winks by Georgie™; made in the USA.

  • Ingredients
  • Purified water, natural rubber latex, cellulose gum, chamomilla recutita (matricaria) flower extract (USDA-certified organic blue chamomile), sodium dodecylbenzene sulfonate, lavandula hybrida (natural lavender). Ingredients are subject to change at the manufacturer's discretion. For the most complete and up-to-date list of ingredients, refer to the product packaging.
Make sure you are not allergic to latex or any other ingredient listed here. I'm going to order one and do a extensive review on it with these lashes I want to buy from Tsubasa Masuwaka's 益若つばさ brand Dolly Wink (My favorite gyaru idoru!!!!!!).
I want to get the top and bottom lashes but I read they sell them together and seperately. I'm still researching into it. I wish I can read Japanese! I did read so many good reviews on Dolly Wink lashes though. Supposedly, it makes your eyes look doll like without making them look too fake (more natural looking). Heart~~~~!! I am also getting the circle lenses that look something like these.

These three sites are pretty good for circle lenses:

They have various designs and colors. I could sit and look online for hours. It's crazy how many they have. There are so many choices! They also sell other cosmetic items for eyes like eyelashes, eyeshadow, mascaras, etc...

I might be going with Honeycolor.com with a plain brown color such as the Neo Dali Brown Color with a 14.2 diameter with 45% water content. I like this website because they have photos of the eyes close up of what it looks like for each contact color and style.  The other websites are less consistent so it's hard to tell what they're going to look like. The Neo Dali pair I want is approximately 25 dollars for just one pair and a contact case without tax and shipping. It's pricey but I really want it. Lol. They have these circle lenses in my prescription which is awesome! The diameter ranges of these contact lenses go from 14.0 to 15.0. 14.0 is a typical eye size and 15.0 is mega huge and don't look natural. Those are great for dolly looks or cosplay.

I'm trying to look for natural contact solution as well and it seems like I found this one to be pretty close. It's cruelty-free. It's called Clear Conscience. This is pretty pricey for contact solution but it's worth it if you don't want all those unwanted harmful chemicals in your eyes. I also read online that you can make your own saline solution but there are drawbacks as it would be short lived since there will be protein build up and no disinfectants to clean your lenses. Find this brand on Amazon [12 ounce bottle for about 13 US dollars]or at Whole Foods.

I'll let you know for sure when I get them and will post a photo of the look. I am super excited and thanks for reading this post. Please share any other ideas or brands you know of by commenting below~! <3

Review of My Favorite Mascara

One of my new years resolutions of this year was to get rid of all my non-natural makeup. I was so sad to see my makeup thrown away but I'm on an important mission to only use natural products that isn't going to harm my eyes! This is my first natural mascara that I bought which is the 100% Pure Ultra Lengthening Mascara in the Black Tea. On their website it runs for 18 US dollars. It's the blackest black that they have in their line. There are four colors which is BlackTea, Blackberry, Blueberry, and Dark Chocolate. And it smells soooo delicious like you want to lick it good. Hehe! They are 100% natural and vegan. They use fruit and vegetable pigments instead of synthetics.

I'm wearing the 100% Pure Ultra Lengthening mascara and a all natural eyeliner I made using only charcoal and distilled water. I used the charcoal for my eyebrows as well. (Those are the only things on my face, promise!)

The ingredient list is as follows:

Ingredients: Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract (Organic Green Tea), Tocopherol (Vitamin E), Cera Alba (Honey Beeswax), Rubus Fruticosus Fruit Extract (Blackberry Extract), Ribes Nigrum Fruit Extract (Blackcurrant Extract), Rubus Idaeus Fruit Extract (Raspberry Extract), Hydrolyzed Oat Protein (Oat Protein), Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein (Wheat Protein), Pantothenic Acid (Pro-vitamin B5), Fucus Vesiculosus Extract (Seaweed Powder), Coconut Stearic Acid (Coconut Acid), Mica, Theobroma Cacao Seed Butter (Cocoa Butter), Pearl Powder, Oryza Sativa Germ Powder (Rice Powder), Theobroma Cacao Extract (Cocoa Powder), Coffea Arabica Seed Extract (Powdered Coffee Beans), Mel (Lavender Honey), Origanum Vulgare Leaf Extract (Oregano Extract), Thymus Vulgaris Flower/Leaf Extract (Thyme Extract), Rosmarinus Officinalis Leaf Extract (Rosemary Extract), Lavandula Angustifolia Flower/Leaf/Stem Extract (Lavender Extract), Hydrastis Canadensis Extract (Goldenseal Extract)

I was surprised because for the longest time I thought you couldn't have an all natural mascara. I'm so happy there are natural mascaras out there. This is one by far my favorite. The packaging is so adorable and shiny~! I love shiny things! I think most girls do, lol. The consistency is drier than most formulas and gives your lashes a feathery light natural look. This is great for lashes like mine which are really short! Please note that this is not going to give you that big dramatic lash look. You can find this amazing mascara on Amazon.com or on the 100% Pure official website. Click here.

What are your favorite natural mascaras? Please share your brands... See you in another post!

Breakouts and Avocados...

I seriously think I made a correlation between my breakouts and this vegetable(fruit) and I don't mean in a good way. I applied fresh avocado I bought from the market on my face and after a couple minutes and BOY I had a fiery reaction! I started having millions of red bumps on my face and I completely freaked out!!! It was nothing but avocado. I might be mildly allergic to avocado but that makes me really sad. I just want to cry! I love love love it so much! Like more than anybody I know. I could eat this everyday and unfortunately I can't now or have to limit my consumption.  I've been eating a lot more guacomole lately and I've been having major breakouts. That might be related? I usually order the Chipotle Veggie Burrito Bowl with TONs of guacamole. Oh my goodness! It's so delish~ I will miss you sweet avocado dear. Cries!

I just found out that avocados have 77% fat content per nutritionfact.com. LIKE WHOAAAAA! Seriously? That's a lot! I didn't even know haha.

As nutritious as they are, the calories from fat scares the hell out of me!

Does anybody else get huge breakouts from this as well?

Nourishing Coconut Shampoo Recipe

Commercial shampoo can be damaging to your hair and your scalp due to the chemicals that are in them. Have you read the ingredients in the back? I bet you can't even pronounce most of the names. I know I can't!  The silicone that coats your hair makes your hair soft and shiny gives you a false feeling of healthy hair. You can't trust shampoos that say they are natural either because that's only partially true. It might contain one or two ingredients that are but then all the same toxic chemicals are formulated in conventional shampoo. So this is where you end up trying to find a natural solution to this problem. I bet you anything you are in the right place. You can make your own shampoo at home easily that's simple, affordable, and fun to make! You can do this with your family and friends. This is by far my favorite shampoo recipe to make and use. So let's get started!
You'll need a few things:
  • Castile Soap - I use my Dr. Bronner's Baby Mild Castile Soap which I get from Wholefoods or Natural Grocers. You can also get this online like Amazon or ebay for a good price.
  • Coconut milk -  ultra moisturizing agent - Try to get BPA free. There are two brands that are pretty good which are Native Forest (Organic and BPA free) and Aroy-D (product of Thailand and also is BPA free).  Click here for on a interesting link on why BPA can be bad for you. I usually pick up Aroy-D at a local asian market close to my house. If you're not fortunate enough to have one click here for the link to the Amazon website. They have both brands! Aroy-D is a good quality product from Thailand and have been around for a long time. One 14 ounce can is like 1.77 US dollars.  It's worth the buck!
  • Honey - natural antiseptic and preservative - I use an organic, raw, and unfiltered honey from Sprouts.
  • Vitamin E Oil - antioxidant and natural preservative - I use Now Solutions Vitamin E Oil 32,000 IUs that I got from Natural Grocers. I got mine for about 13 US dollars. Make sure it's not synthetic and the one that is the only naturally sourced d-alpha tocopherol. See my blog "Not All Vitamin E Are Created Equal."
  • Mixing bowl and spoons
  • Container or bottle with lid

I make small portions at a time like a week's worth since I like things to be fresh. You can put this shampoo in the fridge to last a lot longer. This formula is ultra moisturizing for me and I used to put a teaspoon of olive or grapeseed oil but that was much too heavy for me! My hair and scalp felt greasy all the time. That doesn't mean you can't try putting your favorite oil in it. I was fine without it as the coconut milk has high fat content and acts like an oil which is ultra moisturizing for my own hair. Please be advised: play around with the ingredients and see what works for you. This works well with my hair and it's never been better. Initially it was a month of hell before my hair was used to the natural ingredients. (After all, synthetic shampoos contain silicone which temporarily coats the hair giving the illusion of shiny. In reality, the chemicals in conventional shampoos are really damaging and can make your hair fall out!!) My hair is now shinier, smoother, softer, and less of it falls out. I used to shed hair like a cat but now it's not as bad. YAY!

1 part coconut milk
1 part Dr. Bronner's Soap
1/2 teaspoon of honey
Few drops of Vitamin E Oil
**Update 5/28/13 I do put a teaspoon of jojoba oil that is a very thin oil and works perfectly for me and it doesn't feel heavy at all. I highly recommend jojoba oil. This oil is great for everything. I use the Desert Essence brand organic jojoba oil. I got mine from amazon.com for like 13 US dollars.

Mix these all in a small container. Do not shake. Pour into a cute bottle of choice. :) Voila! Enjoy your very own homemade shampoo~ You can also use this as a body wash!

Check out my other blogs on a "gentle oatmeal bodywash recipe" and "Clarifying Green Tea shampoo"

Keep in mind that you'll have to wash your hair for at least a couple weeks to a month to get the soft and silky hair. Your hair is coated with the conventional shampoo and so it will be a crazy month because your hair and scalp is not used to the natural stuff but trust me it works! My hair is softer, silkier, and stronger than before. My hair doesn't fall out as much and I have tons of hair! I used to shed like a cat and now it's occasional.

Burt's Bee Lip Gloss Review

Hey lovelies!!

I wanted to review a Burt's Bee product for you. I own some Burt's Bee products at home and I love their ultra conditioning lip balm which is one of the first items I got into. Anyways, I was really excited when I brought this baby home! I opened it up and before I even tried it on I was kind of disappointed by the size of the packaging. It was a lot smaller than I expected but I still had high hopes! So i applied the gloss to my lips. The gloss was of drier formula than what I'm used to and I don't even think there is enough product in the container! I kept digging back in to get more product onto the wand and it seemed to not be working. It felt like there was nothing in the container. I don't know if it was my particular gloss but I really wished it worked out since it was such a beautiful color! It had the right shimmer and shine. It smelled and tasted good. Lol. The price is 9 US dollars and I thought it was too pricey for the amount of product. Don't get me wrong it is a good quality gloss and I liked it but maybe it's because I'm just too frugal? There isn't enough in there. It almost feels empty as you swirl the wand in it. Would I buy this again? I would if it was half the cost or double the amount of product in the container.

Ingredients listed on their website: ricinus communis (castor) seed oil, oleic/linoleic/linolenic polyglycerides, cera alba (beeswax, cire d'abeille), aroma (flavor)*, silica, helianthus annuus (sunflower) seed oil, olea europaea (olive) fruit oil, jojoba esters, ammonium glycyrrhizate, tocopherol, glycine soja (soybean) oil. +/- (May contain): CI 77163 (bismuth oxychloride), CI 77861 (tin oxide), CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499 (iron oxides), CI 77019 (mica), CI 75470 (carmine), CI 77891 (titanium dioxide), CI 77947 (zinc oxide). *natural flavor

I'm thinking I'd be better off trying out the lip shine?

My Favorite Lip Balm

I would like to make my own lip balm someday with bees wax, coconut oil, and vitamin E oil but for now my favorite lip balm is the EOS natural lip balm. EOS actually stands for Evolution of Smooth. I didn't know that up until now! Haha. They also sell lotion and shaving cream. I was first intrigued by this product by it's interesting and simplistic design of the containers. I mean look at it! It's an egg and it's cute! The bright colors and shape got to make you happy. I know it does for me. The flavors are amazing and the ones I've tried so far are the sweet mint, strawberry sorbet, and passion fruit. My favorite is strawberry sorbet. I lost my passion fruit one and I can't remember the taste. Anyways, one of these babies runs for 3.29 US dollars on their official website. It is not too expensive and if you ask me it's pretty good and it does the job. They claim to be 95% organic and 100% natural. They're phthalate-free, gluten-free, paraben-free, and petroleum-free.
The ingredients are: Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil*, Beeswax/Cera Alba (Cire D'abeille)*, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil*, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil*, Natural Flavor (Aroma), Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter)*, Stevia Rebaudiana Leaf/Stem Extract*, Tocopherol, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil*, Fragaria Vesca (Strawberry) Fruit Extract*, Limonene**, Linalool**. *Organic. **Component of Natural Flavor. Certified Organic by Oregon Tilth.

This glides on clear and keeps your lips hydrated longer than other brands. They smell and taste soooo good. I am so excited to try the Pomegranate Raspberry one.

What are your favorite lip balms?

My Personal Skincare Routine

So I'll let you guys into my secret world of my skincare routine. Shhhhh! Don't tell anybody. Just kidding! It's really simple, easy, affordable, and best of all natural.
Seven important factors for my beautiful skin:

1. Eating healthier with more whole fruits, vegetables, and grains
2. Exercise (15 minutes of jogging or 30 minutes of walking everyday) This will increase blood and oxygen circulation. Sweating is a great way to rid of toxins. Take dance or sport classes if the gym bores you. Make sure to keep at it since it is much more rewarding to be consistent even if it's for 10 or 15 minutes a day.
3. I drink a lot of water! This will help flush out toxins from my body and improve my overall appearance. I feel better throughout the day.
4. Sauna after a workout for the best results!
5. Tanaka facial massage
6. My own personalized skin care routine
7. This is an easy one! Sleep!

Most of them are pretty self explanatory and do not need further detail but if you have to know please comment below and I gladly to tell you~! I will get into further detail about 5 and 6 in this blog since there's a lot more that goes on. I will start off with my skin care routine:

My Facial Cleanser:

My homemade cleanser consists of three products: tea tree oil (You can find some great ones from Mountain Rose Herbs), Dr. Bronner's baby mild Castile soap, and lastly sweet almond oil.  Tea tree oil is a natural antiseptic which helps with my acne. This combination is gentle and super cleansing. Keep in mind that every item I mention in this blog should be sensitive enough for all skin types but use discretion and always test them out first before buying or using it.

My Toner:
I also make my own toner but trust me this one is even easier! All you need is good quality green tea and cotton balls.

Put some boiling water into a cup and steep your favorite green tea.

(I usually use the Mighty Leaf Green  Tea Tropical but I just bought the Yamamotoyama Sencha Green Tea to be a little more adventurous and will definitely let you know more about it in another post)

I drink half of it and put the rest in the fridge to really cool it down. This is usually enough for an entire week's worth of toner. I soak the cotton balls half way and apply it all over my face. This feels absolutely wonderful! The cold will help tighten the skin and minimize the appearance of pores. It's cooling and soothing for my super sensitive face. The green tea is rich in antioxidants that will help neutralize those free radicals. (For those who don't know about free radicals they can damage cells and tissues and antioxidants bonds with those free radicals to prevent them from damage. Click here for a detailed article) My skin feels smooth, supple, and refreshed afterwards. You have to try it!

My Moisturizer:
I used to use the Burt's bees moisturizer for sensitive skin but it was getting too expensive since it is like almost 20 US dollars for a TINY bottle! It did the basic job of moisturizing my face and it didn't have a fragrance which I liked a lot (as perfumes gave me headaches easily). I felt hopeless because I thought I had to spend a lot of money for a really good natural moisturizer. They're not cheap! D:

Then I got the vitamin E oil and I've fallen in love completely! It is easily absorbed into the skin and it is not greasy even for my acne prone cheeks and oily T-zone!! My skin feels baby skin soft. The lid contains a wand to apply on easier if you want.

Be careful though when searching for a vitamin E oil since all brands are not created equal and don't think the more expensive the better either. I learned, that's not always the case. Prior to this one I bought wasn't pure enough since it was diluted with other oils like safflower and grape seed oil. This isn't bad of course but this specific formula made my skin feel too icky, heavy, and greasy. However, please don't let that stop you from buying those! Just make sure to test it out before you buy it on your hand or on the side of the face. I'm sure it works for some people! My advice is to go for more of a pure and organic formula of vitamin E oil. Higher units is fine but I'm sure the lower ones work just as well. The photo listed above is the brand I use which is the Jason Extra Strength Natural 32,000 IUs. One oz (30 mL) runs for approximately 10 dollars. I use a tiny pea size amount and apply it all over my face. Additional benefits of vitamin E oil is that this is also an antioxidant and reduces existing scars and stretch marks. I have acne scars so I am glad there is something like this to address that problem. I want to add other essential oils to this in the future and create a good formula which I will definitely share with you guys in another post.

Sum of all ingredients mentioned:

Dr. Bronner's Baby Mild Castile Soap, Tea Tree Oil, Sweet Almond Oil, Green tea, Cotton balls, Vitamin E Oil

Estimated total price is 40 to 47 US dollars. You can find these easily on Amazon.com or at your local natural grocery store. Depending on the price and frequency of use these should last you for months compared to hundreds of dollars spent of cosmetic products at drug stores and malls! Another additional benefit is that you can cross over these products for different things which saves you even more money! All of these are non-toxic since it doesn't contain unfamiliar chemicals that you even can't pronounce. There are more options as you can look for organic versions, cruelty-free, or eco-friendly containers. Or do what I do and recycle all the paper and glass and reuse them in your home or send them appropriately along with your recycled items for trash day. I love recycling! <3

Last but not least, I do the Tanaka facial massage daily which I'll include a link to the YouTube video that I refer to. Click here for the video. There are several different types and the ones I've seen so far have been good. I love doing these massages because they're free, easy, natural, and not time-consuming. I spend about 10 to 15 minutes a day doing this massage. It's a natural way to get youthful looking skin by reducing fine lines, wrinkles and saggy skin. A face lift without the costs! Click here for my "Facelift Without Surgery" blog. I have saggy skin and ever since I started doing these massages recently, I've seen drastic improvement in my face. It really works! You just have to keep doing the massages at least once daily (Try to do it twice daily morning and evening). This also stimulates lymph flow and surfacing of blood and oxygen circulation.

Look at the dramatic difference in this model's face. Like wow! This is the same model in the video I linked for you.

Share some of your secret beauty tips or your daily routine. I would love to hear them!

Two Items I Like To Use For Shower!

As of right now I have two items for the shower. Here it is:
(I conveniently linked the name for the store's official website for you)
Dr Bronner's Unscented Baby Mild Pure Castile Soap
is made with organic oils. It is certified fair trade and 100% vegetarian.

Ingredients are as follows: Water, Saponified Organic Coconut* & Organic Olive* Oils (w/ Retained Glycerin), Organic Hemp Oil, Organic Jojoba OIl, Citric Acid, Vitamin E.

"Super mild castile soap has outstanding water softening and cleansing powers. Preferable to harsh soap and de-fattening synthetics. It does not cut dirt, but dissolves it. It is the mildest and most pleasant soap you have ever used or money back!" - per label on bottle

On the photo is the 16 ounce but the one I bought is the 32 ounce. It's huge and definitely worth the buck. Depending on which store you go to it can range from 12.99 to 16.99 US dollars not including tax. I like for most of my stuff to be unscented as I easily get headaches from heavily perfumed items. The great thing is that if you do want smell you can always add your favorite essential oil into it like peppermint, vanilla, tea tree, lavender, and so on... (click here for a great selection from Mountain Herbs) This is a very versatile item and you can create your own shampoo with this as a base. I sometimes like to make coconut milk shampoo with coconut milk, this soap as base, and almond oil. It makes my hair very shiny and silky~! I need to add vitamin E oil to that. There are so many beautiful benefits for your hair and skin.

Burt's Bee Baby Bee Shampoo & Wash

As you can see there is a trend with the items I've chosen and you probably figured it out. They're baby. Who cares if I'm an adult? I have baby needs! ^^ It is fragrance free and tear free. I found mine at Target for 14.99 US dollars (doesn't include taxes) for a 21 ounce bottle with pump. I looked on the official Burt's Bee's website and saw only the small bottle without a pump. Maybe I missed it? I like this because there is no fragrance and you can use it as a wash too!

Ingredients: aqua (water, eau), decyl glucoside, carthamus tinctorius (safflower) oleosomes, glycerin, sodium cocoyl hydrolyzed soy protein, aloe barbadensis leaf juice, coco-glucoside, glyceryl oleate, avena sativa (oat) kernel flour, aniba rosaeodora (rosewood) wood oil, coriandrum sativum (coriander) fruit extract, cedrus atlantica bark oil, prunus amygdalus dulcis (sweet almond) oil, xanthan gum, citric acid, glucose, sodium chloride, sodium benzoate, glucose oxidase, lactoperoxidase, linalool.

Let me know if there are any other cool baby or organic shampoos that are fragrance free and great for sensitive skin or scalps. Thanks for reading~

My Favorite Toothpaste

In this blog I'm going to talk about my favorite toothpaste Toms of Maine which I absolutely adore. If you check out their website they have all kinds. They have eight major categories of concern: fluoride free, whitening, fresh breath, anti-cavity, sensitive, children's, SLS-free, and lastly multi-benefit. Each category consists of 2 to 11 toothpastes with a few overlapping such as the children's fluoride free. It's a lot, I know! I was overwhelmed when I was going through them. LOL.

I picked this one by accident because it said whitening on it. I didn't even know it was fluoride-free since it wasn't one of my concerns when shopping for one. Most toothpaste contain fluoride and Toms of Maine sell most their toothpaste with fluoride too. It's a natural mineral that helps fight cavities  Apparently there are people who don't want fluoride in their toothpaste! I didn't know about that. I started reading on the internet that some doctors and dentists (even a journal of the ADA? click here for the link to a doctor on youtube telling you in more detail about it) are saying too much fluoride can be bad for your teeth. In small amounts is good for fighting cavity but I guess we're exposed to too much of it in our water systems and toothpaste. It can cause browning and tooth decay? Oh my! So Toms of Maine has a few toothpaste that contain no fluoride for those who don't want it. I thought that was considerate and nice of them!  All products are cruelty-free, the toothpaste container is BPA free (A BIG PLUS), and it's eco-friendly.

This is what it says on the back of the toothpaste:

These are huge concerns for me so that makes me happy to buy this product. It's not too expensive! I got mine at Wal-mart for like 3 US dollars and some cents in the states. Hopefully you'll be able to find it that cheap elsewhere. Or their website I believe it ranges from 4.99 to 5.99 US dollars and they have samples for 0.99 US cents. It still very cheap compared to other toothpaste brands offering the same benefits.

For those of you who don't know about SLS is also known as Sodium Lauryl Sulfate which is in a lot of toothpaste out there on the market. It is also in other beauty products as well. If you want to see a detailed article by Dr. Mercola click here for the link. Very interesting stuff! Supposedly, SLS can really damage the inside of your mouth and people have been getting canker sores. It gives that fizz in your mouth as you brush your teeth. It's a surfactant and "helps clean your teeth better." You might want to look into to that if it's a concern and as a matter of fact Toms of Maine sells SLS-free toothpaste. Hmmm, I wonder if they sell fluoride-free and SLS-free? Haha, is that too much?

What's your favorite toothpaste? If you have any other suggestions, comment below. I would love to hear them!

Makeup Brands I Want to Get Into

I started getting into eco-friendly, cruelty free, and healthy products recently. (I've also gone vegetarian and it's the best move I've made by far in my life!) It's hard to find certain brands that you can trust nowadays because they contain at least one ingredient that is linked to cancer. It freaks me out! I don't know if it's a marketing hype to get me to buy organic products but it certainly made me more conscious and aware of it. I try my best to recycle containers and make my own products at home. There are some drawbacks to this as sometimes I don't have the time or the resources to make it.  I'm geared towards makeup in this blog and by in no means have I tried any of these yet with the exception of 100% Pure. I'm working on getting more of these into my collection. This is not a review of the cosmetics line but just listing brands I want to get into. (FYI if you want to know more about each brand click on the name, I've linked it for you~)

Au Naturale

This brand is an American cosmetics line that was started up by two friends Ashley Prange and Alexandra Salit - Sawyer. They were looking for a high-end makeup line that didn't have to sacrifice their health and values in order to look beautiful. Focused on environment and artistry they created a line that is high quality and use-able. A lot of the makeup is made with organic ingredients with an exception of few. They have non-nano ingredients which is really important which means the materials are not absorbed into the skin. There are a list of the ingredients which you guys can check out. If you're familiar with Bare Escentuals then you will like this brand a lot as it is somewhat similar (there are a lot of differences) but definitely a lot better for you in health.

 Juicebeauty

Juicebeauty.com is an organic line that is truely organic based on their website. They use organic fruit juices in their items. Hence the name Juicebeauty! I haven't tried this one yet but I'm excited about this line! There are products that a lot of magazines rave about which is their CC cream. Seems like a lot of companies are raving about that nowadays.

[All photos are part of their respected owners and their website]

I wasn't aware that there is a celebrity collection by Alicia Silverstone. If you're not familiar with her, she' more notably known as an actress in Clueless and The Crush [which I grew up watching!]

2. The Honest Company

I actually found this out because I was watching a interview of Jessica Alba. I adore her! She is co-founder of a line that is honest, cruelty free and contains no toxic chemicals. Oh, did I also mention eco-friendly? It's targeted toward families with young children since there are a lot of baby products. Nonetheless! There are items for everyone and I'm interested in their household cleaning products and sunscreen. They actually have a bundle sampler that you only pay $5.95 US dollars for shipping only and you get to sample some of their products. Pretty neat, huh? Sounds like a great deal! One catch though doing this will automatically sign you up for a membership which is so much per month but you can easily cancel out of that.

I wanted to get this interesting fruit and veggie spray that they have and it's sold out! You spray it on your fruits and vegetables to clean them. How awesome! Also, I forgot to mention that the great thing about this company is that they ship every month of the items you run out of for great deals. Definitely helpful and worth checking out for busy families!

So you might be familiar with this brand too which I have already gotten and tried out. I really like it. All the products I've tried smell good and feels great. I bought the pink box gift set and I actually have a video review of it on my Youtube channel! I got a chiffon blush, mascara, 2 eyeshadows, 2 brushes, eye cream stick, and a lip color. I love the packaging. It's so adorable! The box is pink which is my favorite color and has hopping bunnies which are one of my favorite animals. It runs for 65 US dollars but I used a coupon which brought it down to 50 something dollars. You can find some online coupons, you just have to search for it! =)

The top one is a cheek tint in strawberry. Yummy! On their website they claim to use fruit and vegetable pigments. The colors are bright and amazing. They are 100% vegan, cruelty-free, and ecofriendly. There are tons of products on their site so beware you might be on there for hours like I did. LOL. There are a lot of adorable gift baskets too!

What I liked about this beauty brand was the back story to how it was created. Rose Marie Swift is a renown makeup artist from NY and her work has been featured in huge publications like Victoria Secret, GAP, Louis Vuitton, Ralph Lauren and the list goes on! She went to the doctor one day to find that she had toxic levels of metals, solvents, and pesticides in her body! The technician asked her if she worked in the cosmetic industry and she didn't know that cosmetics could prose such a health issue. So this is where she begins her health conscious journey and this makeup line seems pretty legit. It's a "high-end organic line that is truly luxurious."

Above is a lip2cheek tint and it is 36 US dollars. (It's a bit pricey but reviews say it's worth the dollar) It's cool because as you can figure out by the name you can use the tint for lips and cheeks! Who doesn't love two in one product. This color featured in the photo is called smile and it's a beautiful peachy color which I need in my makeup collection. Also, their lip balms are raved by Allure like this one here. Definitely worth a try!

I like the names of two of their products which are narcissist and universalist. Their package design is simple and white. Pretty cool! I love creative packaging designs. The Narcissist which I have a photo here and it's stick foundation and concealer. This company is toxin free and ecofriendly.

Definitely let me know if you guys know of any more that I'm not aware about. All of these I mentioned are American natural beauty brands. I found that Australia have great brands. I don't know too much about Europe and Asia. What are your favorite brands?
