Fresh Natural Look With 100% Pure Cosmetics

 I used all 100% Pure cosmetics on my face for this fresh natural look. It was really and simple! You need just a few things and I will list them below.

Chiffon Blush  //   25 US dollars
I like light pink blushes that brighten my face for a innocent and fresh look.

  Fruit Pigmented Everywhere Concealer   //   25 US dollars
I can use this anywhere on my face from dark circles, blemishes, creases, etc... Awesome product.

 Dual Ended Creamstick Silk/Cotton   //   18 US dollars
I love the fact there are two colors in one which makes it easier to carry around. These colors are shimmery. I use this on my eyes as eyeshadow and sometimes as primer. It is a superb primer!

 Lip Glaze Velveteen   //   15 US dollars
I love this lip glaze as it has a smooth creamy texture with a slight shine like a gloss would give. It's like a lipstick and gloss had a baby. I love the sweet smell to this too!

  Fruit Pigmented Tinted Moisturizer   //   32 US dollars
My all time favorite moisturizer. I love two in ones for sure! This save a lot of time as I am super busy with school and work. I'm sure there are a lot of ladies and gents that are in the same boat. Sheer coverage with sunblock which makes this a must-have product.

100% Pure Fruit Pigmented Everywhere Concealer Review

Item: 100% Pure Fruit Pigmented Everywhere Concealer
Website: www.100percentpure.com
Cost: 25 US dollars
Net weight: .24 oz (7g)

Shon's review: I have been using this concealer for about a couple months now which gives me a real good sense of what it's like. I ordered the peach bisque which is a good color for my skin. The peach bisque for those who don't know is the medium color. I really like it because it can cover anything on my face. Dark circles, scars, pimples, you name it! It is a bit sheerer than I would like but that's because I have bad scars on my face from acne over the years. Nonetheless, superb product and just absolutely elated at the fact that there is such a great concealer without harmful chemicals in it. I wear my tinted moisturizer and blush to top off for the day.

Final thoughts: I would recommend it to anybody and will buy more again~

100% Pure Powder & Tinted Moisturizer Review

So it's been three days since my last post and that's pretty late for me since I try to do it everyday. It's been a rough week because of work and school but I didn't forget about my sweeties here on Bonbon Naturale. I ordered a few things online this past week which I shouldn't have but I just had to because I'm obsessed with 100% Pure cosmetics // Click for a detailed review of 100% Pure  //  I bought their fruit pigmented powder and tinted moisturizer. I've tried it on for about a couple days to get a feel for it. I'm pretty impressed with the quality.

Healthy Flawless Skin Foundation Powder   //   0.316oz   //   $26.00
Peach Bisque   //   Medium Coverage

 The packaging is just absolutely endearing! It's a silver colored shiny container. The inside of the lid is a mirror. How convenient and thoughtful is that?
Super lightweight face powder to give you a beautiful, flawless, poreless complexion. Use alone or over our tinted moisturizer. All natural formula packed full of anti-aging vitaminsantioxidants and skin purifying eucalyptus, soothing calendulachamomile and roseoil absorbing rice powder and flattering color from fruits and vegetables. Does not contain talc, chemical preservatives, fragrances or any other toxins -100%pure.com

 Fruit Pigmented Tinted Moisturizer    //    1.7oz    //    $32.00

  Sheer Coverage   //  Peach Bisque

Tinted with natural fruit and vegetable pigments to give your complexion a flawless appearance while feeding your skin with nourishing white tea, acai oil, pomegranate oil and vitamins.Antioxidants protect your skin from other environmental hazards such as pollution, smog, smoke, exhaust, etc. -100%Pure.com

I'm a light-medium skin color with a warm [golden] undertone. The peach bisque was a good color for me. I had to kind of guess on the website as there weren't any samples or color patches on it. Although, that wouldn't have helped probably. To my surprise the color actually matched my skin. The color was blend-able.  The great feature about the moisturizer is the pump which measures about just about the amount displayed below on my hand. I recommend one pump which is a lot and apply first on my nose and spread to the rest of the areas on my face.

Here is a short video on my blending the product on my hand. The quality of the video is not all that great but it shows you how the color matches your skin. You do have to blend, blend, BLEND to get the desired flawless look. Keep in mind it's a sheer coverage so it's only a small bit of color. If you're looking for something with fuller coverage then go with the liquid foundation. Personally, I wanted a moisturizer with a little bit of color so this was just perfect. If I wanted extra coverage I got the powder  for those special occasions. You can get a medium to full coverage by topping the moisturizer off with the powder.

Here is what I look like with the tinted moisturizer and powder on. Just a tad of my homemade eyeliner, 100% Pure eyeliner, blush, and lipstick. TADA! All natural look. I don't like my makeup too heavy. Would I recommend this to a friend? Of course I would! The packaging is lovely and the makeup is ethical and non-toxic. Who can complain? The quality is superb. I love the light texture of the powder and the moisturizer.

Texture: Smooth and light. Feels like nothing on my face.
Packaging: Shiny and adorable. Very girly which is a BIG + for me. All materials are recyclable.
Lasting power: Lasts all day but if you live in a hotter humid area like I do you might have to top off every so often finishing powder to keep it matte. Otherwise it is great!
Color: When I put it on the color blended so well that it was flawless and it didn't look like I had makeup on.

~~~
They have a special going on this week and lucky me I missed this since I bought mine just before this came out. :( But my Bonbon beauties I'm sharing the love and here is a special which is super duper cheap for all four items. You get a luminous primer, tinted moisturizer, powder, and cruelty-free kabuki brush all for: $68  //  $105 VALUE
You also get free shipping for anything over fifty dollars. I also recommend looking for a 10% off coupon somewhere online. You'll save quite A LOT
100% Pure Pink Box Review
So I bought this pink box set from a company called 100% Pure a couple months ago and at first glance I fell in love with the adorable packaging. These were the first products I purchased from this brand and I have to say I love the quality. 100% Pure products are free of toxins, synthetic chemicals, artificial fragrances, and chemical preservatives. They are vegan and vegetarian friendly. I'm wearing most of the products on my face in this photo. My eyeliner is a homemade recipe of charcoal and aloe gel.
I got the set originally because I wanted to sample some of their products without having to spend too much money. I love all the colors which surprisingly complements my skin color. I'm not wearing any powder here but I'm excited because I just purchase their pigmented moisturizer and powder which should come in about a week or so. I'll do a review on that in a future post for you guys. =)
~~~

Pink box set   //   All packaging is made of recycled materials and inks are non-toxic soy inks. //
$65    //

This is my photo of my set. Inside of the pink box contains two cruelty free brushes which are made of synthetic hairs and not of animal hairs. One is for eyes and one is for cheeks. There are two eye shadows: sateen and cashmere. The blush is in chiffon which is like a bright pink. There is a lipstick, mascara, and eye-stick duo. Everything smells fruity delicious as they contain fruit and vegetable pigments. The great thing is that these contain antioxidants so it's good for your face as well!
Bunny bowl not included ;)

SUPER WANT
I really want this YUMMY Ice Cream Strawberry gift set for only $25 ^-^

100% Pure Cosmetics Free Of Toxins & Carcinogens

Have you heard of
?

100% Pure is an American ethical and health conscious cosmetics line that is 100% pure, environmentally friendly, and cruelty-free line founded by Ric Kostick, his wife Susan Wang, and her brother James Wang. The business started in 2005 in California that continues to be successful and grow all over the world. Their journey began with Susan Wang who used to work as a formulator and found out terrifying things on how carcinogenic and toxic elements were in everyday cosmetics.

Mint white tea skin care set    //    normal to oily    //    $35

100% Pure uses fruit and vegetable pigments for their makeup instead of synthetics dyes and food colorings (which are known to cause severe allergic reactions and possible anaphylactic shock. I will write a future blog about certain ones that I know exist in certain natural and organic cosmetics).

All ingredients are listed on their official site so there is no need to fear with 100% Pure. As you can see from the photo above they contain items that you know about. NO chemicals that you can not read! How wonderful is that. They only use food grade ingredients and don't use emulsifiers or fillers because that would dilute the product. You get pure products that are sensitive for every skin type.

I actually use some of their products and I think it's AMAZING. Here is my photo of my 100% Pure collection which is still growing of course. This is the pink box set from their gift set collection which runs for about 65 US dollars for two eyeshadows, blush, two brushes(no animal hairs whatsoever, all synthetic hairs), eye stick duo, lipstick, and mascara. The bunny bowl not included. ;)

 They are more affordable than most natural brand of it's kind. I have read reviews on some thought it was too expensive for the quality. I believe the product is of high quality and the price matches it just because you are getting ethical and healthier cosmetics that's not going to cause cancers and diseases. If you want cheaper cosmetics then you pretty much get what you pay for. They don't use any nano particles (like the titanium and zinc oxides) which can be extremely harmful as it can be directly absorbed into the skin. There are products that are also gluten-free which I didn't know you can go that way with makeup brands. The vitamin E that they get is derived from rice bran which I thought was so considerate of them.

NOTE:
They have mostly vegan makeup but sometimes vegetarian when they use cruelty-free honey.
All packaging is made from recycled material.

They have all kinds of products for all skin types. They have hundreds of items and it can take forever looking over all of them but it's worth the look because everything is in an adorable packaging. I've also noted that the smells are just amazing and not the fake perfum-y smell that gives you headaches. I am super sensitive to fragrances and so I only use fragrance free products unless it's natural fruits or essential oils. Natural smells are completely fine for me.

On sale!! Chocolate line for 88 US dollars - $110 Retail
Photo from 100% Pure

PERK:
They always come out with new items and always have sales which I'm sure we all love right?

Ingredients: Rice Powder, May contain all or some of the following powdered pigments: Cacao, Apricot, Peach, Vanilla, Coffee, Papaya and Tomato, Vitamin E (a-tocopherol), Lavender Flower Powder, Organic Rosehip Oil*, Avocado Butter, Coco Butter, Vitamin A (a-palmitate), Vitamin C (ascorbic acid)
* certified organic by Baystate Organic Certifiers - 100percentpure.com

The only downside with the company (  there is lots to love  ) is that I think they use too few organic ingredients. I'm not saying they don't have any because they have a few. I hope sometime in the future that majority of their ingredients would be though! In the meantime, they have so many positive aspects that I would say that 100% Pure is one of the best brands out there for all natural and healthier cosmetics. 100% Pure is definitely a worthwhile and meaningful company to promote and support. They're having sales that are ending on four days from today. They are giving out a 6 piece set for any $35  purchase. This is such a great deal as you won't come by this very often with them. It's normally 80!

How Toxic Is Your Nail Polish?

I think every girl has a soft spot for pretty nails. From all kinds of shapes and colors, we can get seriously creative with our nail designs. There are literally hundreds of video tutorials dedicated to doing your nails like a pro.

photo from weheartit.com

Sad thing is, I've stopped painting my nails over a year ago and most of you will think I am crazy. I can't say I blame you but you'll see why I refuse to wear any nail polish. Let me start off by asking you this -- did you know that nail polishes contain toxic chemicals that are irritating and carcinogenic? A chemical that is most consistent in all nail polish brands is n-butyl acetate a chemical that is known to irritate the lungs, throat, and skin. These chemicals in large amounts can affect the environment which I don't understand why some brands claim their product to be vegan. So when they say it's vegan-friendly they're either saying it's free of animal products or that it's cruelty-free. I feel like this is misleading because when a consistent ingredient in nail polish such as n-butyl acetate is exposed to the environment it can contaminate soil and surface or ground water. This is considered toxic is aquatic organisms. The high vapor pressure and insolubility in water of n-butyl acetate accumulate in the air which can cause respiratory problems.   {   Click here for the source   }
Therefore, the exposure to the environment does not constitute it being cruelty-free. This gives a false sense of a safer or healthier product but obviously it's not.

A lot of companies have taken one, two, or all three of the MAJOR toxic chemicals that are known to be carcinogenic.

Formaldehyde     //      Toluene      //      DBP {aka Di-butyl Phthalate}

These are known as the toxic trio or the toxic three. I think they should call it the "dirty three."

Up until recently, most conventional nail polishes found on store shelves offered up a noxious ingredient list of substances including the "toxic trio," formaldehyde, toluene and dibutyl phthalate, or DBP. Formaldehyde, yes the same stuff used to preserve dead things, is a known human carcinogen and can also cause eye, throat, nose and skin irritation. DBP is a known reproductive and developmental toxin, while toluene is a possible reproductive and developmental toxin and can also cause headaches, dizziness and fatigue. All of these chemicals can be absorbed into the body through the nail bed. Feel like swiping on a coat of polish now? - Kirsten Hudson, huffingtonpost.com

No I don't!!!! O_O

Beware of various marketing:

NAIL POLISHES WITHOUT TOXIC THREE
Just because many companies have gone without these toxic chemicals doesn't mean they aren't just as harmful without it. Read your ingredients and do research on each one. You'll find all kinds of side effects. IT IS SCARY!

NAIL POLISHES WITHOUT TOXIC FIVE
Some companies have gone even further for example like ZOYA(and many others) to claim they don't have the toxic five chemicals:  formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, toluene, camphor, di-butyl phthalate free (vegan friendly nail color). I dislike the fact that they repeat the first one as if they are two different ones when they are the same. Formaldehyde resin is a derivative of formaldehyde.

NAIL POLISHES 7-FREE
You didn't think they could go even further than 5. Well, they did. Avril French cosmetics line has nail polishes too and they claim 7-free of no parabens, no formeldehyde, no pthalate, no toluene (except parme), no xylene (except sabre dore nacre), and no rosin. Still contains harmful irritants listed below:

 BUTYL ACETATE, ETHYL ACETATE, NITROCELLULOSE, PHTHALIC ANHYDRIDE / TRIMELLITIC ANHYDRIDE / GLYCOLS COPOLYMER, ACETYL TRIBUTYL CITRATE, ISOPROPYL ALCOHOL, CI 77891, STEARALKONIUM HECTORITE, ADIPIC ACID / FUMARIC ACID / PHTHALIC ACID / TRICYCLODECANE DIMETHANOL COPOLYMER, CITRIC ACID.

Even if they go as far as 10 or 20 which I believe they will do or might already be doing doesn't validate the safety of any nail polish.

NAIL POLISHES WITH HERBAL INGREDIENTS

No Miss Vegan Nail Polish is free of the toxic-trio. I guess the only plus side on these is that they this brand contains natural herbal ingredients such as dill seeds, carageenan, coffee arabica seeds, ginseng root, rose canina fruit extract, cucumber fruit extract, hyemale plant extract. I've never heard of nail polishes going this route but the additional ingredients below are still harmful such as ethylacetate and n. butyl acetate.

Just because they contain natural ingredients dosen't mean that they won't contain toxic chemicals:
Nitrocellulose-a fiber used for viscosity. Ethylacetate, N. Butyl Acetate, Isopropyl Alcohol-solvents used to dissolve Nitrocellulose. also may contain: Mica, made from sand, cosmetic titanium dioxide, (white),cosmetic iron oxide blue, (indian paint pot grey/blue), iron oxides, earth born colors made from rocks, zinc oxide, from the earth, used to promote drying and to deflect harmful UV rays from the sun. --alternative outfitters.com
We absorb everything
All around I'm glad that companies are changing their formulas to make it safer for the consumer. However, I'm still against wearing nail polish just because our nails, nail beds, and skin all absorb these  unnatural foreign chemicals. There is no such thing as a safer or non-toxic nail polish, folks. It's as easy as that. It doesn't take a scientist or a tree hugger to realize that nail polish is "not" natural. Remember that anything you apply to your skin will be absorbed into your body. From your cosmetics, nail polishes, and perfumes all irritate your lungs and skin.

So what's the solution??
You're probably not going to like this but the best thing to do it not wear nail polish. I know this is hard ladies and gents but it is worth your health and your life. Now, just because you can't use nail polish doesn't mean you can't have purrty hand and feet. Click on the link below for an au naturale pedicure.

Oil for Oily Skin???

You may think oil for dry skin makes sense but for oily skin? That would be a complete nightmare! Trust me on this one though I have oily skin and acne and jojoba oil does NOT break my skin out. I've had olive oil and grapeseed oil on my skin and I would break out. Now, that doesn't mean that it wouldn't work out for somebody else. I list the benefits and uses of jojoba oil (pronounced hohoba. I love saying this name) down below.

BENEFITS OF JOJOBA OIL

  • SUPER SAFE - It is non-comedogenic, non-allergic, and non-toxic

  • All Natural - extracted from seeds of a jojoba plant

  • Has high shelf life - It doesn't oxidize easily because it doesn't contain triglycerides

  • Won't clog pores and easily absorbed into the skin. No greasy feeling.

  • Contains vitamin E and antioxidants - this will eliminate free radicals and the vitamin will promote clear and healthy skin

  • Anti-bacterial and anti-fungal

  • Versatile and can be added to existing products or used as a base oil

USES

  • Makeup Remover

  • Body lotion

  • Cuticle oil

  • Hot oil hair treatment

  • Massage oil

  • Face moisturizer

Desert Essence   //    Certified Organic 100% Pure Jojoba Oil   //   $15.29
I got mine for this price with free super saver shipping on amazon.com
{   click on photo for the link   }

I love using this oil as I have an oil T zone and breakouts constantly and this stuff doesn't break me out. I use it as a massage oil for my face for my morning routine,

Ayanature  {   Click here for the site    }   offers the explanations in English if you need the translation if you can't read French. You can also buy from this website and they lists all the same cosmetics that I have listed here and more. They have the prices set slightly higher than the official cosmetic sites so make sure to do some comparison shopping.

Check out their official sites because they have tons to offer. I love the fact you can get natural makeup for affordable prices. A lot the items are under 50, 20, 10, even 5 dollars. I would only recommend these cosmetics if you're looking for a "safer" alternative to drugstore cosmetics. A lot of drugstore cosmetics are really bad for you because they contain harmful chemicals and cancer causing agents.

That doesn't mean that natural makeup is better for you either. I always recommend that we're better off without as much makeup or making our own makeup from fruits, vegetables, or other miscellaneous items like cacao powder and activated charcoal. See my DIY BEAUTY for truly natural recipes such as DIY eyeliner from activated charcoal and distilled water.

If you must wear makeup then make sure you see a higher percentage of organic ingredients in any makeup product. Make sure to look at all ingredients, actually know what they are. I would recommend NOT going lower than 70%. See my blog on {   INIKA cosmetics from Australia   } that are on the higher range of organic ingredients. Some of them go around 75% which is pretty good. INIKA is more expensive than the ones I've mentioned here. Another tip is to make sure they don't use micronized or nano particles which means they are small enough to penetrate the skin.

More to come in a future blog as I'll be doing a part deux to this one because there is so much more I wanted to cover but didn't get a chance to. I also want to do some on American brands such as 100% Pure and Au Naturale. I'll keep you guys posted~

Feel free to add me on Google Plus or subscribe to my blog. I'll try to get a facebook page up and connect to here with a badge. I'm super excited guys! Hope you enjoyed this blog post as much as I did creating it.

INIKA Natural Cosmetics From Australia

Have you heard of
?
INIKA is an Australian based company founded by Miranda Bond. It is an 100% natural beauty brand that features mineral makeup, vegan and organic cosmetics that is of free of synthetic and harmful ingredients.

INIKA products do not contain harsh chemicals, talc, genetically modified ingredients, parabens, bismuth oxychloride, harmful preservatives, harful fillers, mineral oils, fragrance or petrochemicals. INIKA is suitable for all ages and skin types, including those with allergies and sensitivities.

They have so many products that I didn't even finish looking through all of them
{    Click    here     for     official    site    }
but I found some of my favorite picks listed below:

EYES
They have an extensive collection of mineral eyeshadows in beautiful colors. I love natural brown colors for my eyes but they had a name that caught my eye which is called Fairy Floss which is a light pink color featured below. What an adorable name!
Mineral eyeshadows    //   1.2g    //    $25
LIPS
I don't wear too many lipsticks unless it's a special occasion but I absolutely love lip glosses and lip balms. They have these lip glosses called Lip Whips and this color is by far my favorite one out of the four. Nude was also a good one that I might have to try.
Lip Whips    //    8ml (0.3 ounce)    //    $25

FACE
They have eight mineral foundation colors and they have four in the liquid mineral foundation. They're all certified organic and it's $65. The mineral powder foundation is running for $59.95 for the month of June and they include a free kabuki brush with foundation purchase which is pretty cool.

 I would probably start off with Face In A Box just because you get to sample a lot in one purchase and see if you like it. It is pricey but these are high quality and non-toxic ingredients.
Face In A Box which includes:
certified organic mineral foundation    //    mineral bronzer    //    vegan kabuki brush    //    vegan contouring brush    //
Trial me sizes:
certified organic liquid mineral foundation    //    certified organic concealer    //    certified organic pure primer    //
185 dollar value
$ 99

What I like about this company is that they say the percentage of organic ingredients are in it. A lot of companies I notice don't even do that. They say it's organic or natural but maybe only contains one ingredient in it so it can fool you. You must read the ingredients and see what's natural and organic. The downside is it is quite $$$$$ but at least you'll be paying for the quality and safeness of a product instead of toxic cheap drugstore makeup with celebrity endorsements.
