Thursday Date Night: Maca Powder & Protein Smoothie

Hello my bonbon BEAAAUUUTY-FULS!

I missed you all!

I had a lovely date with my favorite person in the world: my mother!

We headed to Wholefoods for a huge dinner at the salad bar.

You can't see it but I had so much more food underneath all that. Lol! I'm a piggy for healthy food! Oink!

Here are  my major buys:

Nutiva brand hemp protein
Wholefoods brand of fish oil
Navitas brand of Maca powder

I picked the hemp protein over other protein because it had no sodium. The other brands were much more expensive and contained sodium.

I read online that maca powder is good for energy. Maca is part of the radish family grown in the high altitudes of Peruvian mountains. It is dubbed as the "Peruvian ginseng." It is great for anemia (which I don't have enough iron intake).

"When used in conjunction with a good workout regime you will notice an increase in muscle mass."
This is my main reason why I got maca powder since I wanted to gain more muscle mass in my butt and thighs. I didn't realize there was so many other health benefits such as vitamins, minerals, amino acids, women's health, anemia, mood problems, sexual drive, energy, skin, and general health. You can read more on http://www.vegkitchen.com/nutrition/7-top-health-benefits-of-maca/
When I opened the bag it had a lovely sweet smell to it. They describe it online like butterscotch and now that I think about it...it does smell like butterscotch. I'm completely swayed lol.

Here is what the hemp protein looks like. It's very pretty...

You can make a simple smoothie which I did. I added an organic banana, organic soy milk, a tablespoon of maca powder, two tablespoons of raw cacao powder, and 3 tablespoons of hemp protein powder. This was really yummy!

Time to work out now. See you in another post my lovely princesses and princes. :)

Hugs!
