Ex-vegan Alex Jamieson Supersize Me

Okay so I'm here to talk about Alexandra Jamieson recent come out of not being vegan anymore a couple months ago. You may know her from the critically acclaimed documentary called Supersize Me released in 2004. If you haven't heard of it you can click here for more info from Wikipedia.

To sum it up, this is an American documentary film directed and starred by Morgan Spurlock. He goes on a mission to eat only Mcdonald's fast food for an entire month. In the end, he gains weight, has high cholesterol, and several other health complications. It took him 14 months to get back to his normal weight with help from his then vegan girlfriend Alex Jamieson. She has been a vegan for 13 years and this is where it all begins.

She decided to come out on February 27, 2013 that she will no longer be vegan as she had cravings for "bad food" mainly just meat. You can check out what she says in her blog click here. Don't just take my word for it. My opinion on it is quite simple. Personally, I am a vegetarian and I'm quite happy where I am. I do if for myself whether the reasons are for health, political, and/or moral. I respect the fact that she wanted to come out on her blog and be honest about it. That doesn't mean I am agreeing with her justifications or siding with her reasons. I could care less about the reasons because it doesn't have anything to do with me. I just respect her ultimately for her action of coming out instead of lying. It took a lot of courage to do what she did as many rather do the opposite and hide behind lies and be a coward about it. I am just another human being on this planet that is trying to be considerate of another human being. As long as they're not hurting or support the hurting of the planet, environment, animals, plants, and the people I am okay with whatever choices they make.

Reading some of the comments people made on her blog post are hurtful and not encouraging at all. Many people are upset I think because she is one of the more famous vegans and they felt like she had moral responsibility and obligation leading others to support a great cause. That doesn't mean we can be hurtful, mean, immature, and overly critical now does it? Did people forget that the world doesn't revolve around veganism or any particular diet we're on? Just because a particular diet works for you doesn't mean it works for everyone else. Ashton Kutcher went on an all fruit diet due a movie part playing Steve Jobs and was hospitalized after eating fruit for a month. We don't know exactly what he ate to really determine if he was doing it right. All in all, it wasn't for him and it's not for everybody. Isn't the main goal to be happy and healthy whether you are fruitarian, raw vegan, raw vegetarian, vegetarian, pescetarian, ovo-lacto vegetarian, paleo diet, detox diet, GMO-free, low sodium, and countless of others? Every body is built differently. We can coexist in peace and harmony as long as we can understand our differences. Sex, religion, race, color, sexual orientation, diet, and so on makes all of us unique and different. Wouldn't it be big headed and inconsiderate if we thought that everyone should be eating a our way and living our way just because we thought it is right?
